Inspired by the magnificent Dawson River, towns that border its banks pay homage to its virtues, each year throughout September.

From north to south, Baralaba, Moura, Theodore and Taroom stage a feast of festivities under the banner of the Dawson River Festival that highlights the many ways the river impacts their lives.

Focused on families, thousands turn out to parkland, showground and civic hall events that throw the spotlight on the mighty Dawson and all that’s great about their riverside communities.

This year the Dawson River Festival offers an Art Show, the Taroom Races, markets and more.  There are a range of activities held during the weekend event.  

Activities For 2020

Taroom Art Show

Friday 25th September, from 6pm until 10pm at the Taroom Town Hall. There will be a licensed bar and food available for purchase, a lucky door prize and artwork for sale.  The Art Show will also be open for viewing and sales on Saturday 26th from 9am - 12 midday and Sunday 27th from 9am - 11am.
