Banana Shire Council operates a weekly kerbside collection in most towns for general waste disposal. Council also operates a fortnightly kerbside recycling service for paper and cardboard.

Banana Shire Council has 10 Waste transfer stations across the Banana Shire region. The locations operate with different hours, so you need to visit the waste facilities page for your local facility to check opening hours.

Council will soon be implementing a security gate service operated by a secure PIN number which will be given to each property owner.  These new security measures will deter illegal dumping that is currently causing hefty disposal costs to Council.

Council offers a free service at Waste Transfer Stations for domestic users.  Commercial users can use the Waste Transfer Stations for recycling streams but not for general waste.
