Camerata will also be joined for some encores by local performers and community musicians. Camerata is delighted to premiere Mison’s piece in regional Queensland, following a long tradition of local audiences loving new music commissioned by Camerata, previously based on the Fraser Coast, Emerald, Winton in Western Queensland, and more. This year, Mison’s work is inspired by her recent trip exploring the Biloela and Theodore regions, and will conjure evocative soundscapes in an exciting new work for string orchestra. Performing without a conductor, the two-time Helpmann Award nominated ensemble has established itself as a chamber orchestra of national significance.
