The Tulip Project
Ruth Ellington
19 JAN 2024 - 1 MAR 2024
The Tulip Project is an autobiographical exhibition by Biloela-based artist Ruth Ellington. As a creative explorer, Ellington continually captures life and tells the story of her artistic journey through her alter ego ‘Tulip’. Each work speaks to a point in the ebb and flow of the artist’s life, the aftermath of challenges and the need to diligently move forward.
This exhibition delights the senses through a mix of painting, printing, soft sculpture and digital imagery. This flurry of vibrant colour and intricate work is peppered with the symbolism of flowers and bees, to guide the viewer on their way.
The Tulip Project is “a reminder to trust everyday miracles, to work diligently towards your goals but also know the importance of stopping to smell the flowers.”
