A free Multicultural event celebrating culture through Art
Flourish Festival, a vibrant multicultural touring festival, will extend its popular Arts and Cultural events across Regional Queensland to Biloela. On Saturday the 26th July, Kariobe Street Biloela will be a cultural explosion of art, music, fashion and dance. It is the first of its kind in Biloela.
People will be entertained with dance performances, buskers, fashion parades and workshops from 2pm until 7pm. In addition, an Art Exhibition featuring local artists will take place along with a photographic competition with the theme Flourishing in Biloela. Local band Ruby Comeback will entertain guests throughout the day with a medley of folk songs.
Flourish Biloela is facilitated by Integreat Queensland in partnership with Banana Shire Council, Central Queensland Rural Health, The Biloela Community Art House, Teys, Callide Dawson Chamber of Commerce, and the View of the Valleys.
Banana Shire Mayor Nev Ferrier said, “We are thrilled to host our first Flourish Festival in Biloela. Banana Shire welcomes people from all over the world into our communities and this inclusive event is perfect way to bring everyone together through culture and art.”
Audiences will be entertained with some cultural dances from Indonesian and Samoan dance groups. Locals will be spoilt for choice with food vendors selling delicious international dishes at the event.
“Biloela is home to around 24 different nationalities and an event like Flourish is hoped to build relationships and form connections within our multicultural communities,” said Mayor Nev Ferrier.
Flourish Biloela will take place on Saturday the 26th June from 2pm – 7pm and is located at Kariobe Street Biloela.
