Festival of Small Halls Returns to Banana Shire
Banana Shire Council is happy to announce The Festival of Small Halls will again be touring in the Shire this year as part of the Queensland Spring Tour 2021. This year’s event will be held at the Thangool Recreation Reserve on Sunday 24th October.
Banana Shire Council Mayor Nev Ferrier said, “We are pleased to be partnering again with the Festival of Small Halls. Council is committed to supporting access to unique and cultural experiences for our communities.”
Presented by veteran festival producers Woodfordia Inc., the twenty-third edition of the much-loved not-for-profit music tour is taking on a fifteen-stop Queensland tour with one of Australia’s most well-loved singer songwriters, Darren Hanlon, and folk-blues powerhouse Kelly Brouhaha.
Famous for their larger-than-life folk festivals over the last three decades, Woodfordia have established the Festival of Small Halls as a high-quality tour on the Australian scene and internationally. The two songwriters landing on the October tour are only going to strengthen that reputation. Gympie based Darren Hanlon has carved a sacred place in the hearts of many who cross his path with his candid and charming music and storytelling. Tour-mate Kelly Brouhaha is a South Australian-born award-winning songwriter – one of those artists whose unique style simply cannot be put into a box. From big blues to soulful country, it is music that is real and raw and vulnerable.
The Festival of Small Halls tour will take place on Sunday the 24th October at Thangool Recreation Reserve. Tickets on sale from 10 September at www.festivalofsmallhalls.com
