Banana Shire Council has implemented the first stage of its automated water meter reading project which enables remote meter reading and monitoring of water consumption to connected properties.

Property owners within Biloela, Thangool, Callide Dam, Banana and Moura that are connected to Councils reticulated water supply can sign up to Aqualas Water via https://banana.aqualus.com/

The automated meter reading devices will be installed in remaining schemes as budget permits.

Once signed up, property owners will have the ability to view their own property water usage information on a daily basis. Tenants of the property may also sign up using the above link, with the property owner approving and managing access.

The AMR system provides a number of benefits, including a cost-effective way for Council to read its water meters without a person physically attending site, and it can be used to detect any unusual water use patterns that may indicate a potential leaks in a customers property. Providing a means for early leak detection reduces the amount of water wasted through undetected leaks and can save customers hundreds of dollars.
