Title

1. This notice may be cited as Banana Shire Council (Making of Local Law) Website Notice (No. 1) 2022.

Commencement

2. This notice commences on the date it is published on the website of Banana Shire Council.

Making of local law

3. Banana Shire Council (the “Council”) has, by resolution dated the 23rd day of February 2022, made Local Law No. 5 (Parking) 2022.

Making of subordinate local law

4. Council has also, by resolution dated the 23rd day of February 2022, made Subordinate Local Law No. 5 (Parking) 2022.

Purpose and general effect

5. The purpose and general effect of Local Law No. 5 (Parking) 2022 is to complement the regulated parking provisions in chapter 5, part 6 of the Transport Operations (Road Use Management) Act 1995 by providing for the exercise of local government powers authorised under the Act.
6. The purpose and general effect of Subordinate Local Law No. 5 (Parking) 2022 is to supplement Local Law No. 5 (Parking) 2022, which provides for the exercise of local government powers authorised under the Transport Operations (Road Use Management) Act 1995.

Model local law

7. Local Law No. 5 (Parking) 2022 incorporates a model local law, Model Local Law No. 5 (Parking) 2010.

Local law that authorises a subordinate local law to be made

8. Local Law No. 5 (Parking) 2022 authorises the making of Subordinate Local Law No. 5 (Parking) 2022.

Inspection

9. A copy of each of the local law referred to in paragraph 3 and the subordinate local law referred to in paragraph 4 may be—
   1. inspected and purchased at Council’s public office at 62 Valentines Plains Road, Biloela; and
   2. viewed by the public on the website of the Department of State Development, Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning.
