The Bend Road Bridge Upgrade Project

Banana Shire Council advises the following new work areas will be established in July 2022, as construction of the The Bend Road Bridge Upgrade in Taroom progresses (refer to map): Working hours: 6am – 6pm. The bridge will be replaced within 3 weeks.

A temporary bridge closure and side track placement at Bundulla Road and The Bend Road Bridge will be in place on Tuesday 26 July 2022 with a detour side track in place.  Once the bridge is in place, the side track will be removed and a work area will be established within the road shoulder of Bundulla Road.

Noise, dust and vibration: audible noise, possible dust and localised vibrations from construction and heavy machinery is expected.  Reversing alarms and flashing lights are a safety requirement and will be used at all times during works.

There will be increased construction traffic and construction vehicles near work areas.

Motorists and pedestrians are reminded to exercise caution, observe all warning signs, and speed restrictions directions during the works.

Council will ensure temporary measures will be in place to access to private properties.

The project team will continue to keep nearby residents, businesses, motorists and key stakeholders updated throughout construction. Refer to map for location details.
