Banana Shire Council is undertaking commercial weed spraying in Melton Park and Lions Park on 16th August 2022.  Spraying will commence at 6.30am in Melton Park and 8.30am in Lions Park. Signage will be in place at entrance points indicating where the spraying is happening. The chemicals will take approximately two hours to dry but the smell will last up to two days. Both parks will be closed until 12pm on Tuesday 16th August to allow the chemicals to dry.  Spraying is to kill and prevent to germinate prickly weeds (khaki burr) Alternanthera pungens
