New Amenities Blocks Completed at Rainbow Street Sporting Complex Biloela
Banana Shire Council has successfully completed the construction of modern amenities blocks at the Rainbow Street Sporting Complex, Biloela, proudly funded by the Queensland Government’s Works for Queensland 2021-24 Program in association with Banana Shire Council. The newly constructed amenities include one block comprising five cubicle toilets, including a disability/family toilet, as well as a separate disability/family toilet located near the sporting fields, adjacent to the Rainbow Street skate park in Biloela.
The project's total cost amounted to $315,917.52, with Banana Shire Council securing $200,000 in funding from the Works for Queensland program. Council supplemented the funding to ensure the completion of the project and meet the growing needs of the communit
Mayor Nev Ferrier expressed his satisfaction with the project's completion, stating, "These new facilities reflect Council's commitment to providing better sporting facilities for our residents and visitors. Banana Shire Council is greateful to the Queensland Government's Works for Queensland support in making this endeavour possible," he added.
The Rainbow Street Sporting Complex hosts several sporting and social events throughout the year and can now cater to larger gatherings with the addition of these new amenities. Sporting clubs and their participants will benefit from upgraded facilities, allowing for more inclusive and enjoyable events.
The amenities blocks were commissioned in June 2023, marking a significant milestone in the ongoing development of the Rainbow Street Sporting Complex.
