Exciting transformations are taking place at the Moura Swimming Pool Complex as construction commenced in June. The project involves a comprehensive renovation and modernisation of the amenities building, marking the final stage of an ambitious initiative consisting of seven upgrades at the pool since July 01, 2022. 

Thanks to generous grant funding provided by the Queensland Government’s Works4Qld 2021-24 program, Banana Shire Council has been able to implement various enhancements to the Moura Pool. Previous projects supported by this grant included a complete repaint of the pool shells in both the 25-metre and 50-metre pools, the installation of new pool blankets for the 25-metre pool to assist with temperature control, and upgrades to pool chemical controllers to ensure compliance with Queensland Health water guidelines.

Mayor Nev Ferrier said he was pleased the renovations were continuing stating, "These renovations reflect Banana Shire Council's committment to creating a safe and enjoyable environment for our community." 

The current phase of renovations to the amenities will bring an impressive $601,700.00 worth of improvements to the Moura Pool Swimming Complex. Of this amount, Banana Shire Council is contributing $351,700.00, further underscoring a commitment to providing state-of-the-art facilities for the community.

To execute these important works, Banana Shire Council has enlisted the expertise of Coast2Country Construction, a reputable company known for its exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail. With a dedicated and skilled team, they have fully commenced the project. With a planned completion date in early November 2023, this will be an early Christmas gift to the Moura community.
