Banana Shire Council is pleased to announce a special initiative to support our local farmers and businesses.

We are offering FREE mulch delivered to registered farms and businesses. To be eligible you will need to accept a full semi-trailer truck load of approximately 80 cubic meters of mulch. Please note, that partial truck loads cannot be delivered. These loads can be delivered directly to your farm or business providing there is clear access and turnaround space for a semi-trailer.

To register your interest and take advantage of this opportunity, please email enquiries@banana.qld.gov.au and register your name, contact number, address, and the amount of mulch you are interested in. Please place the words ‘Mulch Registration’ in the subject line of the email. Registrations are open from now until 20th October 2023. Delivery is anticipated in late October but this can not be guaranteed. Depending on the number of registrations not all registered farmers or businesses may be able to receive the mulch.

Important considerations:

• The quality of the mulch, as well as its weed and seed status, cannot be guaranteed.
• Council holds no responsibility for biosecurity issues related to trucks entering your property.
• We encourage our farming community to make the most of this offer to improve soil health and productivity. Sustainable farming practices are essential for the long-term success of our agriculture sector.
