Honouring Our Heroes: Anzac Day Services Across the Banana Shire

As Anzac Day approaches, communities across the Banana Shire are gearing up to pay tribute to the brave men and women who served and sacrificed for our nation. Here's a roundup of Anzac Day services happening in various towns throughout the Shire:

Baralaba

Dawn Service: 4.28am at RSL Hall, Stopford Street

March and Service: March assembles in front of BBA hospital to march to the RSL Hall. Service starts at 10.30am at the RSL hall, followed by smoko.

Biloela

Dawn Service: Assemble at 4am at Anzac Memorial Park, Callide Street

Morning March: Assemble in Grevillea St near Drakes at 9.15am for marshalling. March commences at 9.30am, down Melton Street along Callide Street to Biloela ANZAC Memorial Park

Morning Memorial Service: 10am at Anzac Memorial Park, Callide Street

Moura

Dawn Service: Assemble at 4.15am for 4.28am Service at Moura War Memorial and RSL Club House, 30 Marshall Street

March and Morning Memorial Service: Assemble at 9.30am in front of Caltex service station on Dawson Highway. March begins at 10am via Dawson highway to Gillespie Street, turn right into Marshall Street to War Memorial for 10.30am service, followed by BBQ lunch, games of Two-up, and live music.

Taroom

Dawn Service: Assemble at Taroom Post Office at 5.15am. March commences at 5.30am from Post office to war memorial Ludwig Leichhardt Park. Gunfire breakfast follows at Taroom town hall courtesy of Taroom RSL.

Morning Memorial Service: Assemble at 10.15am at Leichhardt Tree, Yaldwyn Street, for march to War memorial Ludwig Leichhardt Park. Morning tea and sausage sizzle BBQ follow the service.

Thangool

Morning March/Service: Assemble at 11am at Thangool War Memorial, Ramsay Road

Theodore

Dawn Service: 5.45am at Theodore War memorial, Neville Hewitt Park, The Boulevard

Morning Memorial Service: 10am at Theodore War Memorial, Neville Hewitt Park, The Boulevard

Wowan

Dawn Service: 5.30am at RSSAILA Hall, Don Street, Wowan at the Cenotaph

Morning March: Assemble at 10.30am at the Ambulance station, Railway Avenue. March begins at 10.50am along Railway Avenue, right into Pheasant Creek Rd, right into Don Street, Wowan.

Morning Memorial Service: 11am at RSSAILA Hall, Don Street, Wowan. Other activities include smoko, bar, and barefoot bowls at the Wowan Bowls Club, Don Street.
