Banana Shire Regional Art Gallery Celebrates Female Artists: "Women’s Work” and Other Myths Exhibition Opens
Banana Shire Regional Art Gallery has announced its latest exhibition, "Women’s Work” and Other Myths. This exhibition celebrates the impact of regional female artists through traditionally “feminine” art forms and subjects.
The artworks featured in the exhibition have been sourced from the Banana Shire Council collection as well as loans from private collections across Central Queensland.
Mayor Nev Ferrier expressed his enthusiasm for the exhibition, stating, "The Banana Shire Regional Art Gallery continues to serve as a cultural hub for our community. 'Women’s Work' and Other Myths exhibition beautifully showcase the talent and creativity of our regional female artists.
Attendees will have the opportunity to see the diverse works of many renowned local artists, each piece telling a unique story of generational art-making and the sharing of creative knowledge.
The exhibition will open to the public on Wednesday 15th May from 3.30pm – 5.00pm and will run through until 15th June. The exhibition aligns with the upcoming Women of the World (W.O.W) Festival Biloela, scheduled to take place from May 31st to June 1st.
