Nominations for the 2025 Banana Shire Australia Day Awards officially closed on Monday. Unfortunately, there were no nominations received for the Arts and Culture Award. Council has made the decision to extend the closing date for nominations for this category only. Arts and Culture nominations will be accepted until 8am Thursday 28 November.

Arts and Culture play a huge part in the social fabric of Banana Shire. Help us to celebrate the musicians, photographers, dancers, cheerleaders, performers, cultural leaders, historians, writers, and artists of all mediums that contribute to our Shire. They live and work among us all. Let’s put them in the spotlight this Australia Day. Nominate someone you know for the 2025 Banana Shire Arts and Culture Award.
