Baralaba Showgrounds Septic System Upgrade Completed
Banana Shire Council is pleased to announce the successful completion of a major upgrade to the septic system at the Baralaba Showgrounds, proudly funded by the Queensland Government’s Works for Queensland (W4Q) program. A total of $100,000 was allocated to the project, with the installation of a new Taylex system which was completed on Friday, 6th December 2024.
This infrastructure upgrade will enable the Baralaba community to resume use of the showgrounds’ amenities for a wide range of events
Mayor Nev Ferrier expressed his satisfaction with the project’s completion:
“This project highlights the importance of local partnerships and funding programs like Works for Queensland, which allow us to support community spaces and activities. The Baralaba Showgrounds are a vital hub for the region, and this upgrade ensures they remain functional and accessible for years to come.”
Minister for Local Government and Water Ann Leahy said, "Investing in facilities that bring life to our regional communities is critical. It's been great working with Banana Shire Council to deliver these improved facilities at Baralaba Showgrounds."
The W4Q program supports regional councils in delivering projects that boost local employment and improve community infrastructure.
